Today on the Brian Turner Show on WFMU, guest Ryan Martin of DAIS Records brought a slew of cassettes from the 70's through today. Tapes of proto-post-industrial-synth-experimental strangeness. From Genesis P Orridge's private unreleased collection and Ryan's own tapes and transfers this has been a great mound of lost gems and unusual sounds:

Syzygryd is a town square for the collaborative creation of music. It's a public space, it's a sculpture, and it's a professional musical instrument. Each controls a single instrument and they share a clock, so they're all synchronized. By controlling time, pitch, and harmony, these devices make it easy for people with no musical training or talent to create melodious compositions.

The Vader Project is a set of 100 Darth Vader helmets customized by a slew of different artists. They're on display in LA during June before being auctioned on July 10th. Via Animal
